The Dunkirk Carnival is an explosion of colours, music and good humour that sets the city alight every year from January to March! The highlight? The famous "bands" and "chapels". In the bands, the carnival-goers stand arm in arm to sing traditional tunes at the top of their lungs, led by a drum major. The chapels are festive stops where people toast and feast with friends.
