  Wim' takes you on a tour of "La Cité Impériale" Compiègne, more specifically its Gothic-style Town Hall, dating from 1530! Symbol of this building, the "Picantins" represent the 3 enemies of France: the English (named Langlois, in red), the German (Lansquenet, in green) and the Flemish (Flandrin, in blue). They "sting time" with their hammers on the bells of the belfry, one of which, the oldest, the Bancloque made in 1303. Note also that a tribute from the Compiégnois is addressed to Jeanne Darc with her statue on the Town Hall square! Moreover, if you are in Compiègne, go and taste the gourmet specialty "Les Picantins": 3 grilled hazelnuts delicately coated in chocolate and nougatine, delicious!
